The Business Information and Data group requires an experienced Business Intelligence Consultant with technical/Management skills in the area of business intelligence, data warehousing, reporting and analytics.

Some assignments are concerned with the architecture and design of BI solutions although the candidate would need to be capable of developing to address the following broader areas for major Enterprises and Government Departments:

• Development of the Enterprise Information Architecture and alignment with Corporate Strategy

• Definition of Enterprise Information Requirements

• Business Case and Cost Justification of the development of Informational Systems

• Technical Consultancy: advising clients on data warehouse, management information and analysis best practice.

• Technical Design Authority/Architect for delivery/build projects using technical skills above and including liaison and negotiation with major and niche leading-edge technology suppliers.

• Planning the implementation of major Data Warehouse or other analytical systems.

Personal profile:

• A track record of achievement and recognition within the IT industry as evidenced by significant promotion since leaving University

• Able to interpret business requirements in terms of architecture, database and data warehouse technology and data model design

• Excellent communication skills – interviewing, preparation and delivery of presentations and reports

• Interested and capable of expanding capabilities into all areas of Information Architecture

Other skills

• Experience of the software development cycle from user requirements definition through design, development, testing and implementation

• Experience of knowledge of complex integration issues and technologies

• Some experience and knowledge of Data Warehouse Design, Analytics (Complex query and OLAP) and ETL.
